🚢 Lake Viedma Excursion with Navigation and Transfers from El Calafate
❄️ Full Day Among Glaciers, Navigation and Trekking in El Chaltén
Experience the full Southern Patagonia with this full-day excursion to Lake Viedma, combining glacier navigation, iconic landscapes, gentle hikes and a visit to The Chaltén, all with round-trip transfers from El Calafate. The tour starts early with pick-up at hotels in El Calafate, traveling along the legendary Route 40 to the north of Santa Cruz. During the journey, a stop is made at the historic Parador La Leona, ideal for resting and enjoying the Patagonian surroundings.
🚢 Navigation on Lake Viedma
The navigation begins at Puerto Bahía Túnel, located 18 km from the town of El Chaltén. Once on board, we set sail south, navigating close to the coast to obtain privileged views of the imposing Huemul Massif.
After approximately 40 minutes of navigation, we arrived at Cape Horn Bay, where we disembarked to undertake an easy trek to a panoramic viewpoint on the Cape Horn Peninsula. From there, you get spectacular views of the Iceberg Bay, with icebergs floating by after calving from the glacier.
After the hike, we return to the boat for a close-up and head-on view of the Viedma Glacier, the largest glacier in Los Glaciares National Park, an unforgettable experience in direct contact with Patagonian ice.
🏔️ El Chaltén and Chorrillo del Salto
El Chaltén, known as the National Capital of Trekking. There, a guided tour of the town takes place, followed by a short, easy hike to Chorrillo del Salto, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by Andean forest. 🚌 Return to El Calafate
After completing the activities in El Chaltén, we begin our return to El Calafate, arriving at the hotels at approximately 10:00 PM. 19:30 hs, after a full day discovering some of the most emblematic landscapes of Patagonia.
