The tour begins at 7:30 AM with passenger pick-up from their hotels in downtown Calafate. We will travel approximately 45 km along a route that takes us through the rural area, allowing us to appreciate picturesque wooden houses along the way.
Upon arrival at Punta Bandera Port on Lake Argentino , we will board a modern and comfortable vessel, which will depart the port and begin our journey . Passing through imposing icebergs, we will navigate the northern arm of Lake Argentino, reaching the permitted navigation limit in the Upsala Channel, where we will have a panoramic view of the face of the Upsala Glacier . We will continue sailing through the Cristina Channel to the landing point at the Estancia , arriving around 11:30 am. We will remain at the Estancia for approximately six hours, during which we will visit the Museum of Local Customs , located in what used to be an old shearing shed, where you will be introduced to the history of the Estancia.
Next, 4x4 vehicles Specially equipped for this type of terrain, they will be waiting for us to begin a A 9.5 km trek through the Feruglio Range , along a mountain path that , until recently, was covered by glaciers. During the journey, we will enjoy observing landscapes of great geological interest until we reach the Continental Ice Refuge.
From there we will take a walk of approximately 20 minutes to reach the Upsala Viewpoint , located at 550 meters above sea level, from where we can appreciate Lake Guillermo and the imposing Eastern front of the Upsala Glacier, the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, and the Murallón and Don Bosco Hills.
Around 5:30 PM we will return to the vessel to begin the return trip to Punta Bandera Port. After disembarking, at approximately 7:30 PM, passengers will be taken back to their hotels, concluding the tour.
