Experience a unique day of trekking in El Calafate, reaching the summit of Cerro Frías (1,095 m.a.s.l.), on a journey designed for true adventure lovers.
The excursion begins with the transfer from your accommodation to the estancia, where we will begin the tour from its historic center. After an hour`s walk, we will arrive at the Refugio Leñador, used at the beginning of the 20th century, where we will take a short break to regain energy.
From there, we will enter the lenga forest and face an intense ascent of around 1 hour and a half, which will give us incomparable views: the Cordón de los Cristales, the valley of the Centinela River and, on clear days, even the mythical Torres del Paine.
The last stretch, the most demanding, will take us to the top of the hill, where a 360° panoramic view of Patagonia will leave us breathless: the immense Lake Argentino, the Andes Mountains, the Cordón de los Baguales and, with a bit of luck, the majestic silhouette of Cerro Fitz Roy.
During the descent, we`ll follow alternative trails and stop at historic shelters to rest and enjoy a Patagonian lunch. Upon returning to the ranch house, a homemade snack will be the perfect way to round off this epic experience before the transfer back to your hotel.
