Today we will travel through the Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, to discover landscapes you won't find anywhere else.
We invite you to discover the Salar de Atacama from a unique perspective. We will first visit the Piedras Rojas, geological formations with rocks of an intense red color, located in the heart of the altiplano. The contrast between the red rocks and the turquoise waters is simply dazzling.
We will continue until we reach the Altiplanic Lagoons of Miscanti and Meñique, twin lagoons that reflect the impressive Andes Mountains and the sky in their clear waters, located in the Los Flamencos National Reserve.
After visiting the sister lagoons, we will continue on to Chaxa Lagoon, part of the Salar de Atacama. This salt lagoon attracts flamingos and other aquatic birds due to its high salt content. of salt and nutrients. So we'll have the opportunity to observe these beautiful birds in their natural habitat.

About this tour
We will depart today from our hotel between approximately 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. to make the most of the day. This exciting adventure will take us through some of the most spectacular and diverse landscapes you've ever seen.
Leaving San Pedro, we will begin an ascent to approximately 4,000 meters above sea level, reaching the Red Stones , a geological formation with deep red rocks located in the heart of the high plateau. The contrast between the red rocks and the turquoise lake is simply dazzling. Here we will have time to explore and take photographs in this surreal landscape.
We will continue ascending until we reach almost 4,200 meters above sea level, to the Miscanti and Miñiques Altiplanic Lagoons, beautiful high-mountain sister lagoons located in the Los Flamencos National Reserve. These lagoons are surrounded by mountains and offer us the opportunity to watch birds and take photographs of unique landscapes. The lagoon is an ideal place to appreciate the natural beauty and wildlife of the region.
After visiting the lagoons, we will head to the Chaxa Lagoon, which is part of the Salar de Atacama. Chaxa is a salt lagoon that attracts flamingos and other aquatic birds due to its high salt and nutrient content. Here we will have the opportunity to observe these beautiful birds in their natural habitat and learn about the unique fauna and flora of the area.
The Salar de Atacama is the largest salt flat in Chile and one of the largest in the world. We will have the opportunity to walk through the salt flat, observe the impressive salt formations, and enjoy the vast landscape. During our visit, our guide will make sure to find the perfect, picture-perfect spots you've ever seen to enjoy breakfast and also lunch.
After exploring these natural wonders, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama. We will drop you off near the municipal parking lot. From there, you can explore the town a bit or return to your hotel on your own. If you prefer a private service, we can drop you off at the hotel where we picked you up.
