Riohacha, with almost 500 years of history, is today the meeting point between the Caribbean Sea and the Wayuu culture. This sunset walking tour will take you on foot along its main coastal corridor, while you discover the symbols, stories and characters that have marked the identity of this city in northern Colombia.
From colonial architecture to monuments dedicated to indigenous traditions, each stop is an opportunity to understand the cultural richness of the region. The tour includes the accompaniment of a local guide and a typical snack to end the experience with a guajiro flavor.
The tour begins at the Yellow Butterfly Monument, located facing the sea, on La Marina Avenue. This monument pays tribute to the universe of Gabriel García Márquez, an author who immortalized the Colombian Caribbean with his magical realism. Inspired by One Hundred Years of Solitude, this space connects the city with its literary heritage, becoming the ideal setting to begin a tour that blends history, art, and local culture.
From there, we'll head to Nicolás de Federman Park, one of the most important public spaces in the historic center.
