On this tour we will visit the famous "coast" of La Rioja that goes through the villages that are bordering the hills on its way.

In our journey we can find breathtaking landscapes, a unique microclimate and the imperturbable peace that dominates all the time to the towns that we will visit. Without a doubt, a must-see jewel in La Rioja that invites us to know more about its streets and its people.

About this tour


Our tour will start from La Rioja, where we will pass through the western residential area of the city, the Padercitas, Quebrada, El Túnel, El Dique de Los Sauces, Villa Sanagasta, Salamanca caves and the Huaco Valley. Here we will cross the Huaco slope where we will find impressive views to start the tour through a chain of picturesque coasts that border the Sierra del Velasco: Agua Blanca, Las Peñas, and Chuquis, where we will stop at the home of Castro Barros and visit their house-museum.

We will continue our tour along the coast visiting Pinchas, Aminga and finally Anillaco, and from Anillaco we will return to La Rioja. According to the conditions and roads enabled, we can return by the mountain road or by the Lord of La Peña, a huge solitary rock in an extensive barreal that resembles the head of Christ, where every year during Holy Week thousands of pilgrims of all parties gather to celebrate Easter.
