Itinerary
DAY 1
This fantastic journey begins with a pick-up at Iquitos airport, followed by a transfer to a 5-star hotel in the city for our first lunch. Afterward, we'll take private transportation to the city of Nauta and board the Zafiro Cruise.
While admiring the beauty of the jungle, you'll enjoy a typical Peruvian cocktail. The guides will give us a general overview of the trip. We'll have a welcome dinner on board.
DAY 2
** PEAK SEASON – DECEMBER TO MAY **
AM : Very early, we'll begin a boat excursion to the Yanallpa area of the Ucayali River, where we can see various native species. We'll have breakfast and then set off again to explore the Tapiche River, continuing our search for wildlife. Upon returning to the boat, we'll enjoy a cooking demonstration by the chef.
PM : We'll have lunch and then begin a tour of the Dorado River for fishing. Before returning to the cruise ship, we'll take a nighttime excursion in search of nocturnal animals such as frogs and tarantulas. Afterward, we'll have dinner on board.
** OFF-SEASON – JUNE TO NOVEMBER **
AM : After breakfast, we'll take a walk in Yucuruchi, where we can see various native species. Upon returning to the boat, we'll have a cooking demonstration by the chef.
PM : After lunch, you'll have the opportunity to kayak, swim in the river, or take a boat trip to Lake Bagazán. On the boat, enjoy live music, and we'll have dinner. We'll also have a nighttime excursion to look for nocturnal animals such as caimans and lizards.
DAY 3
** PEAK SEASON – DECEMBER TO MAY **
AM : After breakfast, we'll depart by boat for the Yarapa River to spot pink and gray dolphins. On the way back on board, we'll see the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, where the Amazon River originates.
PM : After lunch, we'll explore the community of Huasi. We'll meet the local people and learn about their customs. You'll have the opportunity to swim in the Tahuayo River and appreciate the colorful sunset that the Peruvian Amazon offers. On the cruise, we'll relax listening to live music and meet the crew before our farewell dinner.
** OFF-SEASON – JUNE TO NOVEMBER **
AM : Before breakfast, we'll depart for the Yarapa River by boat to spot pink and gray dolphins. We'll have breakfast on board, and then another excursion to the community of Vista Alegre to meet its people, learn about their ancestral customs, and visit their butterfly garden.
PM : In the afternoon, after lunch, we'll take a boat trip on the Amazon River to enjoy the magnificent sunset. Back on the cruise ship, we'll relax to live music and meet the crew before our farewell dinner.
DAY 4
After our last breakfast on board, we will disembark and, on the way to Iquitos, visit the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA), a sanctuary for rescued animals such as manatees. Finally, we will arrive at the Iquitos airport.
