Itinerary

DAY 1  

** PEAK SEASON – DECEMBER TO MAY **

AM : We'll begin this journey at Iquitos airport, transferring to a 5-star hotel for our first lunch together. Afterward, we'll board the Zafiro cruise ship from the city's main port. On board, we'll enjoy a delicious welcome cocktail while taking in spectacular panoramic views of the rainforest.

PM : The guides will give us an explanation of the trip in general, and then we will have our first dinner on board.

** OFF-SEASON – JUNE TO NOVEMBER **

AM : We'll begin this adventure at Iquitos airport, transferring to a 5-star hotel for our first lunch together. Afterward, we'll travel to the city of Nauta to board the Zafiro cruise ship. Enjoy a delicious Peruvian welcome cocktail and admire the beauty of the rainforest with panoramic views.

PM : The guides will give us an explanation of the trip in general, and then we will have our first dinner on board.

DAY 2

** PEAK SEASON – DECEMBER TO MAY **

AM : Before breakfast, we'll set out to explore the flora and fauna of the Amazon River. We'll have breakfast on board, and then another excursion to observe pink and gray dolphins.

PM : We'll have lunch on the cruise ship and then embark on an excursion to Puerto Prado. We'll walk to find the world's largest aquatic plant, known as the Victoria Regia. Upon returning to the ship, we'll enjoy live music while we have dinner. In the evening, we'll take a night tour in search of tarantulas and caimans.

** OFF-SEASON – JUNE TO NOVEMBER **

AM : We'll board the boat before breakfast to explore the unique flora and fauna of the Amazon River. After breakfast, we'll visit the confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, where we'll spot pink and gray river dolphins. We'll hike to Puerto Prado to see the world's largest plant. We'll also visit a local artisan market featuring handcrafted items made by the community.

PM : After lunch, we'll begin an expedition to the "Jungle of Mirrors" in Caño Nauta. This place is perfect for spotting birds like toucans, macaws, and parrots. We'll continue with a nighttime visit, searching for animals such as frogs and tarantulas. We'll return to the cruise ship for dinner.

DAY 3

** PEAK SEASON – DECEMBER TO MAY **

AM : We'll take the boat to Japan Lagoon, one of the best-preserved areas in the entire reserve. We'll enjoy a picnic breakfast and have the chance to see pink river dolphins. We'll also explore the Yanaquillo ravine. Back on the boat, we'll go kayaking, and you can swim in the river.

PM : We'll enjoy lunch and have some time to relax. We'll then set off to explore the hanging bridges with a beautiful hike through the jungle. On the cruise ship, the bartender will give us a demonstration of how to prepare a Peruvian cocktail. We'll listen to live music and have dinner with the captain.

** OFF-SEASON – JUNE TO NOVEMBER **

AM : We'll have breakfast, and then we'll go by boat on the Yanayacu River in Pucate to fish for piranhas. We'll return to the boat and have lunch.

PM : We'll explore the suspension bridges in the middle of the jungle, enjoying a beautiful hike. We'll return to the Zafiro and relax listening to live music and having dinner with the ship's captain.

DAY 4

** PEAK SEASON – DECEMBER TO MAY **

AM : We'll have breakfast on board and start the day with a tour of the indigenous community of San Regis. We'll meet the local people and the shaman who will teach us about ancestral customs. We'll participate in a tree-planting ceremony and visit the artisan market. Return to the ship and lunch.

PM : We'll take a boat to the Shiriyacu stream. We'll have fun fishing for piranhas with homemade equipment. We'll enjoy the sunset from the boat. There will be live music and dinner on board.

** OFF-SEASON – JUNE TO NOVEMBER **

AM : We'll explore the Samiria River with a fun picnic, kayaking, and swimming. Back on the boat, the bartender will give us a demonstration of how to make a Peruvian cocktail. We'll have lunch and some time to relax. The guides will share jungle legends with us.

PM : We will visit the indigenous community of San Regis to connect with the locals and meet the area's shaman. We will have a wonderful experience planting a tree. Upon returning to the Zafiro, we will enjoy live music and dinner.

DAY 5

Very early, before breakfast, we'll visit the city of Nauta by tuk-tuk, arriving at the local market. Afterward, we'll go to Sapi Sapi Lagoon, a place that is home to wildlife such as paiche fish, turtles, butterflies, and various birds.

We will return to the cruise ship for a well-deserved breakfast, and then proceed to disembark. On our way to the airport, we will visit the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA).
