Located on the historic Avenida de Mayo, this museum offers a fascinating journey through the history, evolution, and cultural significance of mate, a symbol of gathering, friendship, and national identity.
Through a valuable collection of antique pieces, mates from different eras, bombillas, kettles, historical containers and traditional objects, you will learn how this custom born in ancestral times continues to be present today in the daily lives of millions of people.
During the visit you will discover the Guarani origin of yerba mate, its expansion throughout South America and the social importance of sharing mate in Argentine culture.

¡Increíble experiencia en el Museo del Mate! Súper recomendable para quienes quieran adentrarse en la cultura argentina y disfrutar de una tarde diferente. Me encantó probar mates de todo tipo y escuchar las historias curiosas detrás de cada objeto. Los guías le ponen toda la onda y se nota que saben mucho. Salí con ganas de explorar más sobre esta tradición tan nuestra. Ideal para ir en pareja o con amigos y pasarla genial.
If you're curious about Argentine culture, this Mate Museum tour is a must-do! I honestly learned so much about the history and rituals of mate. The guides were super friendly and really made the experience interactive (tasting session was awesome, by the way!). The collection of mate gourds was way bigger than I expected, and it was cool to see how mate ties people together here. Totally recommend if you want something authentic beyond the tourist basics. Galera, adorei o tour pelo Museu do Mate! Super divertido e diferente, a guia explicou tudo sobre a cultura do mate, com muita paixão. Aprendi curiosidades que eu nem imaginava e até provei diferentes tipos de mate. Foi um passeio leve, descontraído e valeu cada minuto. Indico pra quem quer sair do clichê turístico de Buenos Aires e viver uma experiência autêntica. Não esqueça de tirar fotos e, claro, levar um mate de lembrança!
Echt cooler Ausflug ins Fliegenmuseum! Super spannende Flugzeuge, alles mega interessant erklärt. Die Guides waren richtig freundlich und man konnte alles fragen. Ich hatte total viel Spaß und hab sogar viele neue Sachen übers Fliegen gelernt. Für Technikfans und Neugierige auf jeden Fall ein Muss. Ich würde sofort nochmal mitmachen!
Franchement, super visite du musée MAT avec Tangol Tours ! Ambiance détendue, guide sympa et hyper intéressant. J’ai adoré découvrir l’art argentin d’une façon aussi vivante. Parfait pour ceux qui veulent sortir des sentiers battus à Buenos Aires. Je recommande à 100% !
