La Paz, a historic city with an impressive witness in Bolivia

  The Illimani, is a mountain witness of the history and traditions of the city of La Paz. it is 6,462 MASL and the highest peak of the Cordillera Real. It is a huge massif more than 8 km long and four peaks.  From above, at the peak, you can see the high plateau, Lake Titicaca, up to Peru, Sajama and the valleys down to the Amazon.  Because of its proximity to the city of La Paz, ascents to the top are organized from there. 

Ancient civilizations, Colonial period to current events have left a great mark on the beautiful city of La Paz in Bolivia.  History before and after foundation of the city has had an unmoved and enduring witness.

At La Paz we can find many interesting places as Museums which are an essential part of Bolivian cultural heritage; there are 19  and all of them have something different to show.  Perhaps You may be wondering which museums to visit. As follows some of them: Plaza Museum of Contemporary Art housed in a splendid late 19th-century mansion, is a museum dedicated to Bolivia's modern arts scene displaying a collection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, works of national or foreign recognized artists of the last 500 years.  Museum of Musical Instruments  there you can see national and international instruments with unique characteristics, many of them created by the composer and charango Ernesto Cavour Aramayo  a singer, musician, actor,  inventor of musical instruments and author of Bolivian music teaching books  It exhibits an fascinating collection of musical instruments dating from pre-Hispanic times to the present day. San Francisco Church Museum, it was originally built in 1548, a year before the founding of La Paz, one year before the founding of La Paz. The church collapsed under the weight of snow in 1610 and was reconstructed in 1784. Blending native and Catholic art. Upon entering the church, you will see the opulent interior, which is characterized by its altars of cedar wood adorned with gold leaves. Climb the stairs to the tower to enjoy the panoramic view of Plaza San Francisco and downtown La Paz.  The museum es located in the convent next to the church.  You can see the religious oil paintings, dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Observe the exhibitions of the period costumes, the chalices and the choir books. Museum of Ethnography and Folklore Housed in the gorgeous 18th-century Marquis de Villa Verde Palace, this museum offers a surprisingly history of Bolivia's ethnic cultures. 

All these 19 museums have evidence of the great history of la Paz all of the them can talk about it and the Illimani is the witness.
