Get ready for a kayaking experience that will take you to the very heart of Chilean Patagonia!
The Grey Kayak on
Grey Lake is a unique opportunity to explore, get excited, and connect with nature in a way that only Patagonia can offer.
This kayaking adventure lasts approximately 3 hours and departs daily at 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 4:30 PM,
always subject to weather and wind conditions.
Upon arriving at base camp, our expert guide will provide us with all the necessary equipment: wetsuit, waterproof jacket and boots, poogies (kayak gloves), spray skirt, and life jacket. Then we`ll have a safety briefing on land where we`ll familiarize ourselves with our kayak, paddle, route, and weather conditions. Once we`re ready, all that`s left is to be amazed and enjoy!
We will carry our kayak for about 20 meters to the boarding area. Grey Lake is almost 17 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide, has several capes, peninsulas, and inlets, and is fed mainly by the glacier. On this trip, we will go along the eastern side of the ice wall, where we have different viewpoints for an unforgettable experience. From the water, we will be immersed in an unparalleled landscape, surrounded by Cerro Paine Grande, the Olguín Range, the glacier itself, and many other panoramic views.
Each stroke in our kayak is not only an exciting physical challenge, but also an opportunity to connect closely with nature.
During the first part of the adventure, we will paddle near large floating icebergs, creating a surreal and magical setting, before heading towards the eastern tongue of the glacier. Grey Glacier
which will allow you to enjoy and contemplate this spectacular scenery that the place offers, along with impressive walls of giant ice.
Every moment becomes epic as we paddle in the kayak. From the unique perspective on the water, we`ll have the opportunity to take stunning photographs of the natural beauty that surrounds you.
If weather conditions permit during the return trip, we will pass by the Glacier Island "Nunatak" on our way to base camp.
We recommend wearing a long-sleeved base layer on top (the wetsuit is sleeveless) and a base layer on the bottom. This is due to the local climate, where cold weather predominates.
When we return to the mainland, we will carry memories that will flow like the water of Grey Lake. This kayaking adventure will be an experience you`ll remember forever.
Don`t miss this unforgettable experience!
