Today`s experience will be unique for lovers of wine and Chilean wine culture. Viña Undurraga is one of Chile`s oldest and most prestigious wineries, located in the Maipo Valley, just 45 minutes from Santiago. Its colonial mansion, centuries-old wineries, and French-style park, designed by Pierre Henri Dubois in the 19th century, are a highlight.
We will pick you up from your hotel at the agreed time to depart for the Maipo Valley. We will arrive at Viña Undurraga, where we will receive a warm welcome at the visitor center. We`ll learn some information about the winery`s history and its legacy in the Chilean wine industry.
We`ll begin our walk through the estate`s vineyards, where we`ll learn about the different grape varieties grown and the influence of terroir on wine production. This will be an ideal moment to take photographs of the beautiful vineyard landscape.
Next, we will move to the winery facilities, where expert guides will explain the winemaking process, from grape harvesting to fermentation and barrel aging. We`ll also be able to enter the barrel room ,
where we`ll see the oak barrels up close and learn about their importance in the wine aging process.
One of the highlights of the tour is the wine tasting .
We`ll be taken to a specially prepared room to taste a selection of Viña Undurraga`s signature wines,
which often include varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Carmenère. Experts will guide us through the tasting, explaining and teaching us how to distinguish the characteristics of each wine.
After the tasting, we will have the opportunity to visit the store and take home the wine you liked most if you wish. We will also find wine glasses and other related souvenirs.
Viña Undurraga will offer us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the culture of Chilean wine, from a visit to its fields and vineyards to a tasting of exceptional wines. Without a doubt, an educational and enjoyable experience that will make us appreciate the passion and craftsmanship behind high-quality wine production in Chile.
We look forward to seeing you today for this wonderful opportunity!
