Our day begins
with the excitement of leaving Santiago at approximately 8:00 a.m.,
heading toward the impressive Cajón del
Maipo. As we leave the city behind, the road takes us through
picturesque natural landscapes, anticipating the adventure that awaits us in the mountains.
Along our way, we will pass through charming mountain villages, including San José de Maipo, the first town founded in this cajón. We`ll take a break to explore its square, immersing ourselves in the history and culture of this local gem.
Around 11:00, we`ll arrive at an impressive waterfall. Here, we`ll stop to enjoy a revitalizing coffee while contemplating the majesty of the waterfall and the imposing presence of the San José Volcano, creating a magical moment surrounded by nature.
We continue our journey to arrive at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the charming town of Baños Morales. Here, we will take a walk around the surrounding area, exploring this idyllic spot before heading towards our next destination.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., we will arrive at the Lo Valdés Refuge, where we will be greeted by wonderful views of the mountain range. This will be the setting for enjoying a delicious homemade meal that will delight our palates while we immerse ourselves in the magnificent landscapes that surround us.
After lunch, we will have time to explore the surroundings of the refuge, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy the tranquility of this remote corner. Every corner offers us a new perspective on the majesty of the Andes Mountains.
With our hearts full of memories and our cameras full of spectacular photos, we will begin our return journey
to the hotel around 5:30 p.m. The return trip gives us the opportunity to reflect on the wonders we witnessed and take with us the magic of this day in the mountains.
