Discover the main attractions of Puerto Madryn on a comprehensive tour that combines history, coastal landscapes and marine wildlife. Ideal for cruise ship passengers, this half-day city tour allows you to discover the city`s most iconic landmarks and visit the Punta Loma Sea Lion Colony, one of the region`s most important protected natural areas.
The tour begins with a departure at 9:00 AM, with the possibility of rescheduling depending on the cruise ship`s arrival time. During the city tour, we will visit the historic center, the shopping center, and the industrial sector, where Aluar, Puerto Almirante Storni, and Fishing Park stand out, key to local economic development.
We will continue towards the Monument to Women Galesa, a symbol of the cultural legacy of the first settlers, and we will travel along the waterfront of Puerto Madryn, enjoying privileged views of the Golfo Nuevo. The walk culminates at the Punta Cuevas Panoramic Viewpoint, next to the Tehuelche Indian Monument, from where you can enjoy excellent views of the Patagonian coastline.
Then we will head to the Paraná Beach Lighthouse, stopping to appreciate a panoramic view of the beach. The lighthouse viewpoint can also be seen from the vehicle.
From there we will depart for the Punta Loma Sea Lion Colony, located within a protected natural area. This colony is home to South American sea lions and a significant cormorant colony, which can be observed from natural viewpoints and cliffs without disturbing their habitat. Within the area, you can also explore a flora interpretation trail, ideal for learning about the typical vegetation of the Patagonian steppe.
The Punta Loma Sea Lion Colony can be visited year-round, paying particular attention to low tide times, which offer better wildlife viewing opportunities.
