I lived a unique experience in the world: observing southern right whales both from the surface and underwater , without getting wet, aboard the exclusive semi-submersible “Yellow Submarine” of Southern Spirit.

The experience

We set sail to navigate the Golfo Nuevo , covering up to 10 nautical miles from the starting point, always following the position and movement of the whales. Unlike any other vessel, the Yellow Submarine allows you to choose between two ways to enjoy the experience:

  • Underwater cabin: 40 windows below water level that allow you to observe whales in their natural environment, with a perspective comparable to diving… but without getting wet!
  • Exterior cover: traditional panoramic view from the surface, ideal for photography.

    Passengers can move freely between both areas throughout the entire tour.

    Specialized guides

    A certified whale-watching guide will interpret the animals` behavior, share fascinating information, and answer all your questions so you can make the most of the experience.

    Terms of service

    To ensure a safe and high-quality sighting, the Captain will assess the weather conditions before departure.
    If it is not possible to sail with the Yellow Submarine, the following will be offered:

    • A traditional sighting at the same time (more stable with wind), or
    • Reschedule for the next available Yellow Submarine departure.
