Reviews of Tour To Torres Del Paine

Unforgettable Torres del Paine Day Adventure from El Calafate with Tangol

Reviews

I booked with Tangol Tours and had an absolute blast. It's a long day from El Calafate, border crossing included, but totally worth it. Our guide kept things smooth and fun, with plenty of photo stops. We saw guanacos, condors, turquoise lakes, and jaw-dropping views of the Torres. Comfortable bus, clear logistics. Tip: bring passport, layers for Patagonian wind, snacks, and a big camera memory. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The full-day excursion departs very early with hotel pick-up in El Calafate. After crossing the border into Chile (Cerro Castillo), you`ll enter Torres del Paine National Park to visit iconic viewpoints: Laguna Amarga, Lago Sarmiento, Lago Nordenskjöld, Mirador Cuernos, Salto Grande, and Lago Pehoé. There will be photo stops and short walks on marked trails, with time for a boxed lunch or a meal at a rest stop (subject to availability). The return trip follows the same route, with drop-off at your accommodation. The total duration is usually 13 to 16 hours, depending on weather conditions, season, and immigration processing times. A bilingual guide and tourist transportation are included.
To cross from El Calafate to Torres del Paine, you need a valid ID: Argentinians with a valid National Identity Document (DNI); foreigners with a passport and, depending on their nationality, a visa or electronic authorization for Chile. Minors must travel with the corresponding documentation and authorizations. International travel insurance is recommended. At Chilean customs (SAG), it is prohibited to bring in undeclared fruits, seeds, dairy products, sausages, and plant/animal products: avoid fines. Carry cash in Chilean pesos or a credit card for entrance fees and purchases. Immigration processing times may vary depending on traffic. Check updated requirements before traveling, as they may change due to border or health regulations.
Generally, the tour includes round-trip transportation from your hotel in El Calafate, tourist transport (minibus or van), a bilingual guide (Spanish/English), and a circuit of the main viewpoints in Torres del Paine National Park. It typically does not include: park entrance fee (payable in Chilean pesos or by card, with rates varying by season and nationality), lunch and drinks, personal expenses, tips, and travel insurance. Some tours offer a boxed lunch option at an additional cost or a stop at a rest stop, subject to availability. Any extras and border taxes, if applicable, are paid locally. Please check the operator`s specific terms and conditions before booking.
The weather in Patagonia is changeable: you can experience strong winds, sun, rain, or snow all in the same day. Dress in layers: a technical t-shirt, fleece, waterproof/windproof jacket; comfortable pants; hiking boots with good traction; hat, gloves, buff, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Also bring a reusable water bottle, snacks or a packed lunch, your documents, Chilean pesos, and a camera. In winter, ice or snow may be present, and in summer, the wind is strong; the guide will adjust stops for safety. The tour may be rescheduled or have its route modified due to adverse weather conditions or internal park closures.
This is a scenic excursion of low to moderate difficulty, ideal for travelers who want to experience the iconic landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park without undertaking a long trek. It includes short walks (10 to 60 minutes per stop) on well-maintained trails with gentle inclines and some exposure to wind. This is not the Base Torres trek. Participants will need to be able to get in and out of the vehicle several times and walk on uneven terrain. It is suitable for families and seniors in basic physical condition. People with very limited mobility should inquire. Trekking poles are recommended if you regularly use them, and heavy backpacks should be avoided.
