Highlights of Cordoba City And Jesuit Legacy

In 1599 the Company of Jesus settles in the city of Córdoba, in the space that today is known as the Jesuit Apple. There, the main Church of the Company, the Colegio Máximo and the Convictorio were erected, from which the spiritual and, above all, the educational work would begin to develop, giving rise to the National University of Córdoba and the National College of Monserrat .

Details of Day Tours

With this tour we will visit the most important points of the city: the Founding Historic Center, which is composed of the Plaza San Martín, the Cabildo and the Cathedral; the civic center where the Municipality, the Palace of Justice, the Plaza Italia, the Cañada stream and the Plaza de la Intendencia (among others) stand out.

We will pass through the Libertador General San Martín theater and enter the student district of Nueva Córdoba where we will visit the Capuchin Church. We will continue through Sarmiento Park, the Government House and the University City.

We will continue our tour observing the monument to the "Urban Man" and we will border the Waterfront of the Suquía River, arriving at the popular Barrio Alberdi. From there, Av. Cólón takes us to the Córdoba Olympic Stadium, the fair complex, the Free University of the Environment, and the Botanical Garden of the City.

We will cross the river and enter the elegant neighborhood of Cerro de Las Rosas, where we will know the monument to the "Urban Woman", the Rafael Nuñez Avenue and the viewpoint of the Autochthonous Park. Then we will visit the Jesuit Apple of Córdoba, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will visit the Church of the Society of Jesus, the chapel of the Virgen de Lourdes, the former Rector's Office of the University (now the Historical Museum of the National University of Córdoba) and the traditional Colegio de Monserrat.
