Details of Day Tours

After pickup from all hotels at 2:30 pm, we will travel along Avenida 9 de Julio and through the Recoleta neighborhood and hear the life story of Eva Perón. After this introduction, we will arrive at the Recoleta Cemetery where we will enjoy a 30-minute tour of the site. The guided tour will take us to the mausoleums of key historical figures in Argentine history such as Marcelo T. de Alvear, president from 1922 to 1928, and Raúl Alfonsín, the first democratically elected Argentine president in 1983 after the military government. We will also see the Evita mausoleum and her family.

Next, we will discover the heart of Palermo, which combines a bohemian atmosphere with cutting-edge design and Palermo Hollywood, which stands out for its film studios, television and radio production companies. This neighborhood will highlight the life and work of the writer Jorge Luis Borges, where he spent his childhood and where he wrote his most famous novels.

Palermo was one of the most influential neighborhoods in the life and literary career of Borges. At Borges 2135, in Palermo Soho, is the house where he spent his childhood, and at Honduras 3784 is the house of the poet Evaristo Carriego, whose biography was written by Borges.

Also in Palermo is the Jorge Luis Borges International Foundation, founded in 1988 by his widow and literary secretary María Kodama. It contains several artifacts belonging to the writer, as well as a rich cultural program.

The tour concludes with a 30-minute visit to the Evita Museum, where you can learn more about the life and work of one of Argentina`s most important women.

Around 6 pm, you will be dropped off at a central point in downtown Buenos Aires.

This is the perfect tour for those looking to learn more about an important era in Argentine history, combined with an afternoon of sightseeing.

Reviews of The Buenos Aires Of Evita Peron And Jorge Luis Borges

Amazing Evita Peron Tour

Reviews

As the only individual on this tour, Elba treated this as if she had a group. During the two hour presentation, she constantly shared information and responded to all of my questions. I appreciated that she expanded upon the history of Recoleta cemetery and at the museum, the impact Eva Peron's actions have on Argentinian society today. I appreciated her willingness to give me a moment to buy postcards to allow me to remember my excursion.

EVITA AND BORGES TOUR IN BUENOS AIRES

Reviews

We, me and my wife, were very interested in learning about argentinean cultural history. And this tour was the perfect fit: Evita was one of the main characters we wanted to know about, and Borges we didn´t know about him but it was really interesting too. Not only we got to know about two important argentinean culture figures, but also we were taught a lot about the city of Buenos Aires and Argentina throughout the excursion. THANK YOU!!!
