In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel/accommodation in Bariloche and you will head towards the boarding sport of the lake you chose. The Nahuel
Huapi Lake is the largest and most
important lake in the region, giving the National Park its name, it
can generally be viewed as several different lakes due to the size
and depth of its seven large branches, each with its own changing
characteristics. We fish from a motorboat on this huge lake, angling
for very large trout: rainbow and brown mostly, but also some awesome
brook trout –though difficult to catch on flies, they are a true
challenge. (For fly-fishing, spinning, or
trolling)
The Gutiérrez Lake:
when on this lake, fishermen never
cease to be amazed that they are only 11 km (7 mi) from Bariloche. A
particularly protected location, this large lake is a great option
for windy days, offering beautiful scenery and very good fishing for
rainbow, brown, and brook trout.
The Moreno Lake is a spectacular lake practically
located within the city limits and only 16 km (10 mi) from downtown,
it offers year-round fishing of rainbow and book trout with pleasant
views of magnificent lake-side residences and the surrounding Andes
peaks.
Arriving at the Boarding spot , your guide will explain to you the fishing technics we offer for the excursion :
- Fly-fishing: Using a special weighted line, “dressed” hooks that imitate insects, minnow, shrimp, are cast using various techniques. This undoubtedly requires some practice and patience, only to achieve making a good cast. However, fly-fishing has been popular around the world for a very long time and is becoming more so daily. Countless experienced fishermen arrive in Patagonia every year from many countries to ply their craft in these pristine, unpopulated fishing spots, as do novice casters eager to hone their skills.
- Spinning: This technique involves casting artificial lures, like spoons or spinners, using an appropriate rod and reel. For fishing from the shore or from boats. We recommend using ultra-light equipment and lures, if possible, with single barbless hooks.
- Trolling: Only allowed on lakes, this is an excellent option for those looking to combine sport and sightseeing.
Then, you start your floating trip, navigating on the lake and fishing. After two hours fishing from the boat, you will get to shore to enjoy a nice 3 courses lunch in the middle of nature. After a nice break, you will get om board again to enjoy the best fishing places the lakes have to offer.
Always accompanied by your guide, you will also learn the history of the Bariloche`s region and the best fishing options as well as the local fauna.
After spending the day drifting and fishing, you will join shore, where our assistants will be waiting for you in order for you to take you back to your hotel.
