Details of Day Tours

The adventure begins with a transfer from the meeting point in Bariloche to the renowned Piedras Blancas Winter Park, located on the slopes of Cerro Otto, just 6 kilometers from the city center. This historic recreational center holds a special place in the history of tourism and winter sports in Argentina, as it was here that the country`s first skiing activities began under the direction of pioneer Otto Meiling. Upon arrival at the park, the Piedras Blancas team will welcome you and provide you with the sled you will use throughout the activity. After a brief explanation of how the slopes work and the safety measures, you`ll be ready to start the fun. The experience continues with a chairlift ride to the top of the mountain. During the ride, you`ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Andean-Patagonian forests, the region`s lakes, and the mountains surrounding Bariloche, making the journey an attraction in itself. Once at the top, the main activity begins. You`ll have the opportunity to enjoy six thrilling toboggan runs down the famous, exclusive slopes of Piedras Blancas. Along approximately 3,000 meters of specially designed circuits, you`ll experience curves, slopes, and fun sections, all in safe conditions suitable for those with no prior experience. Between runs, you can admire the snowy landscapes, take photos, and share unforgettable moments with family and friends. This activity is designed so that both children and adults can fully enjoy the snow in a stunning natural setting. The park also features restaurants and cafes where you can relax and purchase food or hot drinks to recharge while taking in the mountain scenery. The Snow Day excursion at Piedras Blancas Winter Park offers a complete snow experience. It includes activities such as sledding, downhill skiing, and snowboarding, allowing tourists to experience the thrill of sliding down the park`s impressive snowy slopes. The park also features recreational areas for building snowmen and enjoying family games in a safe and controlled environment. Visitors also have the opportunity to take ski lessons with qualified instructors to improve their winter sports skills.
The best time to visit Piedras Blancas Winter Park is during the winter months, which in Bariloche run from June to September. During this period, snow conditions are optimal for enjoying winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and sledding. Temperatures are generally cold, ensuring excellent snow quality. It`s important to book in advance, especially in July and August, as these are high-demand months due to school holidays and tourism in the region.
To enjoy the activities at Piedras Blancas Winter Park, you don`t need to bring special equipment, as all necessary skiing, snowboarding, and sledding equipment is available on-site for rent. This includes boots, snowboards, skis, and appropriate clothing to keep you warm. However, it`s recommended to wear comfortable, waterproof clothing, gloves, hats, and sunglasses or goggles to protect yourself from the intense sunlight reflected off the snow. Footwear should be waterproof to keep your feet dry during activities.
Piedras Blancas Winter Park is designed so that people of all ages can enjoy the snow, making it an ideal destination for families. However, some activities may have age or height restrictions for safety reasons, such as the sledding slopes, which may require a minimum height. It is important to heed safety recommendations and follow the instructions of park staff. For people with specific physical conditions, it is advisable to consult a doctor before participating in strenuous physical activities.
Getting to Piedras Blancas Winter Park from downtown Bariloche is relatively easy. It`s approximately a 20-minute drive, following the route to Cerro Otto. Shuttle services offer direct transfers from the city center, and some accommodations offer packages with transportation included. It`s also possible to arrive by taxi or rent a car for greater flexibility. During winter, it`s recommended to check road conditions and consider using snow tires or chains, as the roads can be slippery.
