Gable Island and Penguin Colony | Private Excursion from Ushuaia

About this tour

The excursion begins in the morning with a private transfer from your hotel in Ushuaia . From there, we will head east along National Route 3, passing through some of the most characteristic landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.

Upon arriving at the Estancia Harberton area, we can explore its surroundings and, depending on the day`s operations, visit the Marine Mammal Museum , before continuing our voyage.

From the dock, we`ll embark on a journey to Isla Martillo . During our voyage through the Beagle Channel, we`ll enjoy views of the Fuegian coast and islands and observe various species of seabirds. There`s also a chance of spotting sea lions on the small islands along the route.

One of the highlights will be the penguin sighting on Isla Martillo , where we can observe the animals in their natural environment from the boat.

Important: This tour includes viewing from the boat. The descent to the penguin colony is not included.

We will continue sailing towards Gable Island , a large island located in the Beagle Channel that preserves important examples of the natural landscapes and history of Tierra del Fuego.

Upon arrival we will enjoy lunch accompanied by drinks , in an environment surrounded by nature.

After lunch, we`ll take a walk on Gable Island , exploring forested areas, the coast, and areas where you can see the characteristic dams built by beavers . The walk will allow us to appreciate the vegetation and landscapes of the southern tip of the island up close.

Finally, we will return by boat to Estancia Harberton , where we will take the private vehicle to begin the return to Ushuaia.
