We invite you to embark on a unique and challenging adventure with the "Ice Hike" on the Grey Glacier. This experience immerses us in the breathtaking and wild beauty of Chilean Patagonia, allowing us to walk on one of the region`s most prominent glaciers.
We begin by sailing in a Zodiac boat for 20 minutes to the main tongue of the Grey Glacier Grey. Upon arrival, we will disembark on Nunatak glacier island and begin walking across the glacial moraine until we reach the ice.
This adventure requires a good level of physical fitness, and you must always wear appropriate clothing for this excursion, including sunglasses, a hat, gloves, rain gear, and shoes with good ankle support.
Grey Glacier is approximately 6 kilometers wide with a total surface area of 270 km² and is divided into 3 faces. It is one of the more than 40 glaciers that make up the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, and is also a freshwater discharge point from it.

Get ready today for an experience that pushes the boundaries of imagination with our exciting "Ice Hike" on Grey Glacier.
This ice adventure takes about 5 hours. We`ll give you a backpack with a harness and crampons, and we`ll depart by boat to the island embedded in the middle of the glacier. Once there, we`ll hike for approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour to reach the ice access point. This route is uphill on rocky terrain and is of medium difficulty.
... Sunglasses and gloves are essential, as are waterproof clothing, high-top boots, and trekking pants, in addition to layers in case of changing weather conditions. We will discover the imposing ice caves while exploring the glacial formations that make Grey Glacier a natural wonder. The"Ice Hike" on Grey Glacier is much more than a hike; it`s an adrenaline-filled experience. Every step, every crevasse overcome will remind us that we are challenging our limits and experiencing the extraordinary.
