If you are in Santiago, this is an adventure you cannot miss. The visit to the Viña Santa Rita is a wine experience that immerses us in the history, beauty and winemaking tradition of Chile.
We will pick you up at your hotel at the agreed time to leave for the Maipo Valley. We will drive for only about 45 minutes until we reach the Alto Jahuel area, in Buin. This vineyard is special because we will not only learn about the winemaking process, but we will also learn about an important part of Chile`s history.
Once we arrive, we will start at the Viña Santa Rita Visitor Center, where we will be warmly welcomed and given information about the winery`s rich history and legacy in the Chilean wine industry.
Our guide will take us through the estate`s picturesque vineyards, where we will learn about the different grape varieties grown and how the terroir influences the wine`s character, always accompanied by the beautiful view of the rows of vines and the surrounding mountains.
We will continue to the winery facilities, where we will see the complete winemaking process, from the grape harvest to fermentation and barrel aging. In addition, we will see up close the technologies and techniques used in wine production. We will then visit the barrel room, where the wines are stored and aged in oak barrels, an essential material for the aging and development of the wine`s flavor.
One of the most anticipated moments is the wine tasting. We will go to a specially designed room, where we will taste a selection of Viña Santa Rita`s premium wines, which include varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The wine experts will guide us through each wine, teach us how to see the characteristics of each vine and show us how they pair with different foods.
This vineyard also has the beautiful Andean Museum, where you can explore the collection of pre-Columbian art and historical artifacts housed on the winery`s property.
