This experience will take us to visit one of the most beautiful places in the Atacama Desert, the Rainbow Valley, where the colors mix to form unique landscapes on the mountains, a visual spectacle.
The Rainbow Valley, also known as the Mars Valley, is located in the Domeyko Mountain Range about 90 kilometers north of San Pedro de Atacama. The most impressive feature of Rainbow Valley is the variety of colors and shapes in its rock formations.
This valley gets its name from the layers of minerals that create a spectrum of colors ranging from shades of red and green to purple and blue. The unique rock formations, canyons, and ridges make this place feel like an alien world.
We will also pass through Yerbas Buenas, where several mountain ranges converge. Here you can not only admire the incredible landscape, but also learn more about the history of the first inhabitants, while admiring petroglyphs up to 6,000 years old.
We will also visit Río Grande, a town of artisans and farmers, where we can find interesting souvenirs to take home. We`ll spend a beautiful morning exploring the hidden wonders of this arid desert.

Today we will have an exciting experience, in one of the most impressive landscapes of the driest desert in the world. We will begin by leaving our hotel at approximately 7:30 a.m. (the schedule will be reconfirmed earlier, as it may vary depending on the time of year).
We will head towards Yerbas Buenas, where we can get beautiful views of the Domeyko Mountain Range, the Salt Mountain Range, and the Andes Mountain Range.
Yerbas Buenas has the largest amount of rock art in the Atacama, so we can see petroglyphs style="font-weight:bold"> up to 6,000 years old.
At a special location chosen by our guide, we`ll have breakfast to enjoy alongside these beautiful landscapes.
We`ll continue deepening until we reach Rainbow Valley, also known as Mars Valley, located about 90 km north of San Pedro, in the middle of the Domeyko Mountain Range.
This valley is characterized by the variety of colors and shapes in its rock formations. It gets its name from the layers of minerals that create a spectrum of colors ranging from reds and greens to purples and blues. The unique rock formations, canyons, and ridges make this place look like an alien world.
We will also have the opportunity to hike through this striking landscape. We`ll explore different trails that lead us along the rock formations and offer stunning panoramic views of the valley.
It is also known for housing pre-Columbian petroglyphs, which are centuries-old rock carvings that tell stories of the indigenous cultures that inhabited the region.
After enjoying this unique landscape, we will continue our journey to Río Grande, a small town of artisans and farmers, where we will have some time to explore the area and visit its markets.
We will return to San Pedro and drop you off near the municipal parking lot. From there, you can explore the town a bit or return to your hotel on your own. If you prefer a private service, we can drop you off at the hotel where we picked you up.
