Enjoy three full days of activities that will allow you to get to know the heart of the Salta puna, located 387 km from the provincial capital. We will travel a total of 1,530 km, knowing different places in the province of Salta such as Tolar Grande, San Antonio de los Cobres, Abra de Alto Chorrillos, Seven Caves and Devil`s Desert.
This schedule is specially designed to amaze and understand the Puna Salteña with incredible landscapes of the Andes mountain range, and to get to know how life in the highlands of northern Argentina develops.
The Tolar Grande experience includes two nights of accommodation in houses of the rural tourism network, transfers, guided tours and lunches. During the excursions, We will visit the Ojos de Mar which has three small ponds that are characterized by their turquoise color, we will visit El Arsenal and the Arizaro and del Diablo salt flats.

DAY 1-
Salta - Tolar grande
At 7:00 am a transport with a bilingual guide, will pick us up at our hotel in the city of Salta and we will start our way towards the ravine del Toro towards San Antonio de los Cobres. During this trip of approximately three hours, the guide will tell us about the importance of the Train to the clouds, while we will be able to appreciate the countryside de Quijano and we will continue the journey along a dirt path parallel to the Train to the Clouds tracks, contemplating the towering tracks and the bull viaduct . Before arriving at San Antonio de los cobres, we will make a stop at the La Polvorilla viaduct and if we are lucky we can see the train go by.
Once we arrived in San Antonio from Los Cobres around 12:00 pm we will have lunch in one of the local restaurants. When we finish, we will visit the church and its historic town . Later, we will continue along the route ascending to 4560 meters above sea level until we reach the Alto Chorrillos pass, where we will make a stop to appreciate the panoramic views.
We will arrive at the Salar de Pocitos (center of mining development in the region) through a series of landscapes that will leave us in awe. We will visit the Seven Curves, the Devil`s Desert and the Devil`s Salar.
Around six in the afternoon we arrive at Tolar Grande , with time to admire the red sunset over the bare hills that frame the town to the east. We will arrive at our accommodation to rest and then go to dinner.
DAY 2- Large Tolar
At 07:00 am, breakfast will be waiting for us and at 8:00 am we will embark on a trip to the Arizaro salt flat, the largest in the country and is located in the center of the Puna de Atacama. Near its southern end , just over an hour from Tolar, is the fantastic Cone of Arita, a natural formation that rises about 200 meters above the white surface of the salt flat.
Approximately at 12 noon we return to Tolar for lunch and then we will visit this small town of 200 inhabitants. In the afternoon, we visit El Arenal , a valley completely covered with sand, where you can practice sandboarding and then we will visit Ojos de Mar , three small lagoons with green waters that they surprise in the middle of the salar. It is a perfect place to take the best photos of this incredible landscape.
Around 5:00 pm we will arrive at our accommodation in Tolar Grande to rest and finish our day enjoying a dinner.
DAY 3-
Tolar Grande - Salta Capital
By In the morning, we will have breakfast and check out at our accommodation.
Starting at 8:00 am we will travel approximately five hours until we reach San Antonio de los Cobres , we will pass through Abra de Alto Chorrillo s (4560 masl.). We will arrive around 1:00 pm and there we will have time to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will start our way to the city of Salta arriving at approximately 8:00 pm.
