We start with the pick up at your hotel to head to the Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. We will stop to take advantage of the panoramic view of the city offered by the Mirador Chino. There you will experience unique views of the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana, Guanabara Bay and Niterói.
After exploring this area of Tijuca National Park, we will ascend Corcovado Hill, where we will embark on the Christ the Redeemer tour, to discover a wonder of the modern world. We will reach the foot of the statue by panoramic elevators. Along with the majesty of the monument, we will appreciate the best view of Rio de Janeiro: the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, the Botanical Garden and the points of interest of Rio's civic centers, the Cidade Maravillhosa.
To close the tour of Corcovado, the Jeep will take us downhill to recharge our batteries with lunch. At the end, we will continue towards Sugarloaf Mountain, which emerges from a small peninsula at the entrance to Guanabara Bay.
The first cable car will take us to the top of Morro da Urca, which rises 215 meters above sea level and offers spectacular views of the entire bay and its islands. From there, we'll take a second cable car that will take us to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, 395 meters above sea level. The 360-degree panoramic view offers a unique perspective of Botafogo and Copacabana beaches, Corcovado, and the city of Rio.
After the Sugarloaf Mountain tour, we'll visit the Botanical Garden. This area was founded by Dom João VI in 1808 as an acclimatization zone for exotic plants. Over the course of nearly two centuries, it became the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute, and today it houses more than 6,000 different species of tropical and subtropical plants and trees, including 900 varieties of palm trees.
Here you will walk along the paths listening to the songs of native birds such as the curió and the sabiá, among many others. In addition, you will observe an incomparable variety of cultivated species: imperial palms, giant water lilies, the famous Victoria Regia, and specimens of the almost extinct Brazilwood tree are the most impressive.
