Today's "Adventure Between Lakes: From Puerto Octay, Lake Rupanco to Puyehue" and let the magic of the Los Lagos Region captivate you. The adventure begins from the charming city of Puerto Varas, traveling along the picturesque Carretera Austral with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Our first stop will be Puerto Octay, a historic gem with German architecture and charming streets.
We will begin our excursion from the city of Puerto Varas along the Pan-American Highway. We will head north for 20 km until we reach Frutillar. From there, we will continue our journey to Puerto Octay, a town on the northern shore of Lake Llanquihue, marked by German influence and known for being the first port of departure for agricultural products to Osorno. In Puerto Octay, we'll walk through its old streets and charming plaza, enjoying its rich history and architecture.
Our tour will continue for 54 km through rural landscapes. We'll pass by the Rupanco Hacienda, where agricultural and livestock activities will offer us a glimpse of the richness and fertility of these lands. We'll see green fields and pastures and enjoy the tranquility of the rural surroundings.
During the journey, we will arrive at Rupanco Lake. This beautiful lake will allow us to capture stunning photographs with the mountain range and volcanoes in the background, creating a picture-perfect setting.
