From the moment we leave our hotel in Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas, we head toward the picturesque Town of Pargua, where we board a ferry to cross the Chacao Channel to the mythical Isla Grande de Chiloé. During the 45-minute journey, you'll have the opportunity to spot sea lions frolicking in the water, pelicans flying overhead, and a variety of marine birds, immersing you in the region's natural beauty.
Once in Chacao, we explore this charming town characterized by its larch wood buildings and the iconic San Antonio de Chacao Church, declared a National Monument. We continue our tour along the coastal route to Caulin, famous for its intertidal wetland, which is home to a rich biodiversity of birds such as black-necked swans, herons, and flamingos, which are especially notable during the winter.
