Come join us on this entertaining 4x4 vehicle excursion to capture and live extraordinary moments, immersed in Patagonian nature, and these landscapes that with 360 ° panoramic views, will allow us to observe the important Lake Argentino, the Cerro Fitz Roy and the Torre el Chaltén.
You will have the opportunity to get to know the slopes of the Cañadon del Arroyo Calafate, from where we can see the native fauna: guanacos, foxes, hares and hawks among other species. During the trip you will have a delicious snack or lunch included according to the selected schedule, to rest and spend a great day.
You can go down the hill however you like! We offer three different options, so you can enjoy the experience of your choice.

About this tour
Our tour starts from the central hotels in El Calafate at the selected time. We will embark on a trip in a 4x4 vehicle to take you
to an incredible viewpoint at the top of the hill whose panoramic views amaze all its visitors.
You will be able to observe and capture with your camera a 360° natural landscape that allows you to admire El Calafate and Lake Argentino, this being the largest lake in Argentina.
The excursion has a fun 35 km route over the hills behind the town. Our expert guide will be able to tell us more interesting details about the typical Patagonian landscapes that surround us.
Depending on the season and the weather, it will be possible to see the accumulation of glaciers on Lake Argentino, and the high mountains of the Patagonian Ice Field such as Cerro Fitz Roy and La Torre in El Chalten.
For the descent, we offer three different options, each with its own particular charm:
* In 4x4: just like the fun we had on the way there, we will go down the southern slope of the hill, where we will stop to take a walk to the Labyrinth of Stones, a curious rock formation resulting from thousands of years of wind erosion. Only with this option, in the winter months, thanks to the snow, will we have the possibility of doing skate boarding on a 240-meter track. We access a unique panoramic view in this way.
* In trekking: a 90-minute guided walk along the north face of the hill with views of Lake Argentino, traveling through a valley from the Cretaceous era.
* In zip-lining: you will go down our exclusive circuit of 4 ziplines of 2920 meters in length.
In the oldest house of the Estancia Huyliche, once down, we will serve lunch or a snack according to the chosen time.

*The excursion has 3 options for the descent: 4x4, Zipline or Trekking. If you travel with family or friends and choose different options, you will share the ascent to the hill in 4x4 and the time at the Estancia Huyliche.

the best alternative tour
To be honest, at first I wasn`t quite sure about this tour: I mean.. come on: you have the glacier near by so.. going to the steppe didn`t sound that interesting. But I was clearly wrong about this excursion. Once I got there I knew this place was going to be in my memory forever, the same as the glacier of course. And the guide was key too: very informative and funny. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Hasta no haberla hecho no me hubiera tentado!!! Sonaba aburrida, solo visitar la estepa no me resultaba interesante, con tantos glaciares alrededor; pero solo haciéndola se puede entender el valor de esta excursión!!! no se la pierdan!!! Me dejó los mejores recuerdos! unas fotos increíbles, tomar conciencia de la inmensidad del paisaje, los guías no pueden ser más divertidos!!! Y si tienen chicos es una excursión obligada: les enseñan a amar la geografía, esos temas que en el aula pueden ser tan aburridos, acá los guías se encargan de que se les hagan divertidísimos!!!

Tant que je ne l'ai pas fait, je n'aurais pas été tenté! Cela me semblait ennuyeux, rien que de visiter la steppe ne m'intéressait pas, avec tant de glaciers dans les environs; mais c'est seulement en le faisant que vous comprendrez la valeur de cette excursion !!! ne manquez pas ça! Il m'a laissé les meilleurs souvenirs! des photos incroyables, soyez conscient de l'immensité du paysage, les guides ne peuvent pas être plus amusants! Et s’ils ont des enfants, c’est un voyage incontournable: ils leur apprennent à aimer la géographie, ces sujets qui peuvent être si ennuyeux en classe, ici les guides s’efforcent de les rendre hilarants !!!

Bis ich es nicht tat, wäre ich nicht versucht worden! Es klang langweilig, nur die Steppe zu besuchen, war für mich nicht interessant, mit so vielen Gletschern. Aber nur wenn Sie es tun, können Sie den Wert dieser Exkursion verstehen !!! verpassen sie es nicht! Er hat mir die besten Erinnerungen hinterlassen! Einige unglaubliche Fotos, seien Sie sich der Unendlichkeit der Landschaft bewusst, die Guides können nicht mehr Spaß machen! Und wenn sie Kinder haben, ist dies ein absolutes Muss: Sie bringen ihnen bei, Geografie zu lieben, diese Themen, die im Klassenzimmer so langweilig werden können.
