About this tour
We start with the pick up at the hotels from 16:15 PM , heading to the Estancia Galpon del Glacier. Our Country Day is the ideal program to enjoy and get to know Patagonia in contact with nature. We start with a reception with mate , chocolate, tea and traditional homemade products and in our old Warehouse, built in the year 1912.
Then we accompany you to know the Estancia and learn about the history, this place and the typical activities of Patagonia: guided walk to the Lago Argentino by the " Nature Reserve ¨Laguna de los Pájaros " y Lago Argentino, a trail for interpretation of Patagonian flora and fauna and sighting of more than 40 species of migratory birds. , sheep harnesses with Kelpies dogs and horses, shearing demonstrations in the Galpon to learn more about wool production in this area, and other typical rural activities are part of our proposal. .
Guided tour and shearing demonstration in the old shed, original from 1912: the guides provide information on the exploitation, production, wrapping and transportation of wool. Here there is also a shearing demonstration complete, in charge of the room shearer. Afterwards, we go to the main part of the Estancia to enjoy a delicious typical Patagonian dinner, while we watch an incredible tango and folklore show by local artists.
At the end of our dinner, we return to El Calafate around 10:00 PM.
