Arrival in Cusco

DAY 1. We will pick you up from the airport or bus station in Cusco and transfer you to your hotel located in the city center. The rest of the day is free to acclimatize to the altitude. Overnight at the hotel.

Cusco City Tour and 4 nearby ruins

DAY 2. Breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, we will pick you up from the hotel and begin the tour by visiting the Temple of the Sun, also known as Koricancha . This emblematic site is a clear example of the fusion of Inca and Spanish cultures, and its foundation was used to build the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo.

We will visit the main Cathedral located in the Plaza Mayor, which has beautiful religious art, much of it belonging to the Cusco School.

We will continue the Cusco City Tour towards the Sacsayhuaman archaeological complex, where you can appreciate this magnificent building of enormous carved stones that fit together perfectly, and it is said that it was built by more than 20,000 men, and that it took them around 70 years to finish it.

Next, we'll visit the religious center of Qenqo , where they worshipped their gods, such as the sun, the moon, and the earth. One of its main attractions is the underground galleries, and you'll also see a semicircular amphitheater. We'll continue this interesting excursion at the military site of Puca Pucará , which in Spanish means "Red Fortress" because of its reddish-colored architecture.

Next, we will visit the Tambomachay water worship center, which features aqueducts and waterfalls fed by nearby springs. After this visit, you will be taken to El Regocijo Plaza.

Sacred Valley of the Incas: Via Ferrata + Canopy + Box lunch

DAY 3. Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take the road to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After an hour and a half drive, we will arrive at the base located in Pachar, 54 kilometers from the city.

At this point, we'll put on all the necessary protective gear for the trek and begin the ascent via ferrata, which consists of metal rungs anchored to the rocks, which we'll use for climbing. The other option is to walk along the zip line or canopy tour.

After climbing the Via Ferrata for an hour, you will reach a suspension bridge that will take you to the highest part of the circuit, where you can enjoy a box lunch.

Then, we will begin descending on the zip line to add more adrenaline to this unique excursion, with the longest being 700 meters and the shortest 250 meters.

At the end of this incredible experience, we will return to the base in Pachar and take the bus back to the city of Cusco, dropping you off at your hotel.

Machu Picchu

DAY 4. Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel by shared bus to go to the Ollantaytambo station and begin a journey to reach the train station in the town of Aguas Calientes.

At this point, we will take a bus up to the entrance of the magnificent Citadel of Machu Picchu . For two hours, you will have the opportunity to explore this spectacular archaeological site, also known as the Lost City of the Incas, with a guided tour.

Declared a World Heritage Site , Machu Picchu boasts unique landscapes and was the main agricultural and urban center of the Inca Empire. You will have free time at Machu Picchu to take photos, or if you wish, climb Huayna Picchu and admire the citadel in all its splendor. You also have the option of descending by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch (optional).

At the agreed time, you must present yourself at the train station, arriving at the Ollantaytambo station, and be transferred by shared transport to your hotel in Cusco.

Cusco

DAY 5. Breakfast at the hotel. Free day for personal activities and to recharge for Vinicunca. Overnight at the hotel.

Rainbow Mountain – Vinicunca

DAY 6. Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. It's a 3.5-hour drive in our shared transport, traveling through an undiscovered land of wild desert landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and herds of alpacas. When we arrive at the trailhead for this trek, we will have a hot breakfast upon arrival and then begin the trek to Chillihuani at 4200m / 13,900 feet elevation.

From here, it's an approximately 4-hour uphill hike to reach the famous Rainbow Mountain, or Vinicunca . Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Andes, glacial peaks, red mountains, rocky hills, and traditional llamas and alpacas grazing throughout the valley. As you approach the summit, you may spot some Andean wildlife. Vicuñas are considered the Andean camel, and this is the only place in Cusco where you'll see them in the wild.

Vicuñas belong to the same family as llamas, although they are much smaller and have the most expensive wool in the world. Once we reach the summit of what is known as Rainbow Mountain, you'll have plenty of time to take photos and relax at the top with majestic views of the surrounding area. All the mountains around this area are red, and there are incredible views of the valleys and the Ausangate Glacier right in front of you.

Ausangate is the highest mountain in the Cusco region (just under 21,000 feet) and is part of the Vilcanota mountain range. While taking in this magnificent and colorful mountain view, our staff will bring you some hot drinks and share information about the composition of these incredible mountains and how they became striated in the rainbow of colors you see. After taking some amazing photos and soaking in the views (perhaps even spotting some condors), we will begin our descent with a 2-hour hike downhill.

Then we'll meet our trekking chef and enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared hot meal. After lunch, you can visit some of the homes of local families where you can observe the lifestyle of these people who still practice ancient Inca traditions. They still speak Quechua, practice their land-based religion, and cultivate the land, honoring the spirits of the mountains and the sun to ensure their crops and livestock flourish. They also weave the textiles that you'll find in museums throughout Peru.

Finally, after our interactions with the locals, we'll begin our return journey to catch our transport back to Cusco, arriving around 6 pm, where we'll drop you off at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Departure from Cusco

DAY 7. Breakfast at the hotel. After an adrenaline-filled week, we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the bus terminal or airport in the city of Cusco.
