About this tour

Today we will begin our experience leaving the hotel to enter this route will lead to knowing more about the heritage cultural, agricultural and religious of Chiloé, when touring the towns of Dalcahue, Curaco de Vélez and Achao, where we will visit World Heritage churches, small but interesting museums, gastronomy typical and the Dalcahue craft fair, known for hosting products 100% Chilotes and considered one of the most important of the archipelago.

 

Introducing us by secondary roads we will be able to understand why the FAO has recognized Chiloé as an Ingenious World Agricultural Heritage Site (GIAHS), work of many generations of farmers who developed ingenious practices to the use and conservation of natural resources. An example is the cultivation of more than 200 varieties of native potatoes.

 

In Dalcahue We will visit your town in addition to its typical fair artisanal and its Church, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000.

 

Then we will cross to the Quinchao Island through a spacecraft. We will pass through Huyar and Curaco of Vélez, where we can learn more about its history, its towns rural, architecture, religiosity and folklore. 

 

We will continue our trip visiting Achao, a town surrounded by hills and built in front of a shallow beach. This town is very visited by the inhabitants of the smaller islands since it is the main town outside the Big Island. 

 

Here we can meet the interesting architecture, which It is quite particular since its houses are covered with tiles, which They take multiple forms. Here is the Santa María de Loreto de Achao Church, declared Heritage of the Humanity. It is the oldest church in Chiloé.

 

Also We will visit Villa Quinchao, where We will find the largest of the traditional Chiloe churches and then We will reach the end of the island to the Chequian sector.
