About this tour
The tour will begin at 8:30 a.m. with pickup at your hotel, to begin a fascinating tour of the city's main parks and historic sites. The first stop will be at the Parque de las Cigarras, an iconic green space where you can walk among trees and fountains. This park is a perfect place to start appreciating why Bucaramanga is known as the “City of Parks.”
Next, we'll head to the Custodio García Rovira Park, the oldest park in the city and a site steeped in history. Not only is this park lined with palm trees, but it also houses some of the most important local government buildings, such as the Governor’s Office, City Hall, and the Palace of Justice. As we stroll through this place, you will be able to learn more about the key moments in Santander’s political history, as this park has witnessed important historical events.
From there, we will enter the heart of the city to visit Santander Park, one of the main icons of Bucaramanga. This park is famous for the imposing Sagrada Familia Cathedral, a neo-Gothic style construction that stands as the spiritual center of the city. While exploring this place, we will also have the opportunity to visit the Capilla de los Dolores, a small colonial architectural gem that is centuries old and still preserves its simple white façade, a perfect contrast to the modern city that surrounds it.
Our tour will continue to Parque Las Palmas, a popular site for its privileged location on high ground, offering an impressive panoramic view of Bucaramanga and its surroundings. There you will have free time to take the best photos of the “beautiful city”. Before ending the tour, we will take a panoramic tour of the Cabecera del Llano, one of the most vibrant and modern sectors of the city, with its boutiques, cafes and restaurants that give life to this area. The last stop will be in the traditional San Francisco sector, famous for its shoe industry. You will be able to learn more about the history and tradition of Santander footwear, and perhaps take home a unique souvenir from this part of the city.
After a 3 and a half hour tour, we will conclude with the return to the hotels.
