About this tour

Day 1: Quito – Bellavista | Initial Exploration

  • 6:30 am: Hotel pick-up in Quito
  • Transfer to Bellavista (approx. 2 hours)
  • Arrival, welcome and check-in at the lodge
  • Breakfast at the lodge
  • Introductory guided hike (2+ hours)
  • 13:00 approx.: Lunch
  • Hike along a different trail in the afternoon
  • Dinner and accommodation
    Possibility of observing nocturnal wildlife near the lodge

Day 2: Cock-of-the-rock and biodiversity

  • 4:45 am: Departure for nearby reserve
  • Observation of the rooster of the rock ritual
  • 8:30 am: Return to the lodge and breakfast
  • Guided hike in the forest
  • Free afternoon or:
    • Self-guided hike
    • 15:00: Optional guided walk
    • Hummingbird watching from the lodge
  • Dinner and accommodation

Day 3: Birds and return to Quito

  • 06:15 – 06:30 am: Optional birdwatching walk

  • Final hike (possible visit to waterfalls)
