About this tour
The excursion begins in Bariloche and takes National Route 40 north, passing through some of Patagonia's most iconic landscapes. The first leg takes us to the bridge over the Limay River , the natural border between the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén , before continuing on to the Huemul Peninsula and Puerto Manzano .
The journey continues to Villa La Angostura , one of the most picturesque towns in the region, surrounded by forests , mountains , and the waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi . From there begins the most iconic part of the trip: the Seven Lakes Road , a scenic route that crosses Nahuel Huapi National Park and connects some of the area's main lakes.
Among coihue forests, mountain ranges, and natural viewpoints, we can admire Lake Nahuel Huapi , one of Patagonia's great glacial lakes. Further along, the road will allow us to appreciate Lake Villarino , surrounded by vegetation and mountains, and its connection to Lake Falkner . We will continue through mountain landscapes until we reach Lake Machónico , whose intense blue waters contrast with the green of the surrounding forests.
Finally we will arrive in San Martín de los Andes , on the shores of Lake Lácar , where we can enjoy the charm of this mountain town before starting our return to Bariloche.
The return journey will be made along the same route, once again traversing the landscape of lakes, forests and mountains that characterizes one of the most outstanding circuits in Patagonia.
