Transportation apps such as Uber and Cabify are also operational and are a safe and convenient option.

Gastronomy in Medellin is rich and varied, reflecting the cultural diversity of the Antioquia region. Typical dishes not to be missed include the bandeja paisa, made up of beans, rice, ground beef, pork rinds, fried eggs, ripe plantains, arepas and avocado. Also notable are arepas antioqueñas, empanadas and buñuelos. Don't forget to try the traditional Colombian coffee, famous throughout the world for its unique quality and flavor.
