The property suits travellers seeking a social and flexible form of accommodation in Barcelona, with a setting that supports both independent exploration and shared experiences.

The hostel combines a welcoming atmosphere with the advantages of a central city base. Eixample is known for its elegant Modernist buildings, broad streets and lively selection of cafés, restaurants and local shops. From this area, guests can reach attractions such as Passeig de Gràcia, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Plaça de Catalunya. Mediterranean Hostel Barcelona is particularly suitable for solo travellers, groups of friends and visitors who value central access over a traditional full-service hotel experience.

  • Central Eixample location
  • Social hostel atmosphere
  • Access to major Barcelona attractions
  • Accommodation for independent travellers and groups
  • Convenient base for urban sightseeing

Mediterranean Hostel Barcelona is located in Eixample, one of the city’s most recognisable central neighbourhoods. The district is defined by its geometric streets, Modernist architecture and lively urban character. Its position places guests close to Passeig de Gràcia, a major avenue known for designer boutiques, restaurants and landmark buildings such as Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Plaça de Catalunya, the Gothic Quarter and the central shopping areas are also within convenient reach, while Barcelona’s wider network of metro and bus connections makes movement around the city straightforward.

The property follows the relaxed, communal style associated with a city hostel. It is designed for travellers who appreciate practical accommodation, shared spaces and opportunities to meet other visitors. The atmosphere is more informal than that of a conventional business hotel, making it a natural choice for short city breaks, cultural trips and independent travel. The central setting also allows guests to spend less time commuting and more time discovering Barcelona’s neighbourhoods, museums, markets and waterfront.

Accommodation is generally organised around shared dormitory rooms and private room options, subject to the room configuration available at the property. Dormitory accommodation can suit solo travellers and friends looking for a sociable stay, while private rooms offer additional personal space. Room facilities are focused on essential comfort and practical use, supporting travellers who spend much of the day exploring the city. Specific room categories, bedding arrangements and in-room features are not available for complete verification.

Gastronomy at the hostel is oriented towards self-catering and casual socialising rather than a full restaurant concept. A shared kitchen provides a practical option for preparing simple meals, while communal areas support relaxed breakfasts, snacks and conversations between outings. The surrounding Eixample neighbourhood adds an extensive choice of cafés, bakeries, tapas bars and restaurants, allowing guests to experience both everyday Barcelona dining and more contemporary culinary options.

Wellness facilities and a dedicated leisure programme are not available for complete verification. The main leisure experience comes from the destination itself, including architecture, galleries, shopping streets, nightlife and nearby historic districts. The hostel is best suited to couples seeking an independent base, families comfortable with hostel-style accommodation, groups of friends and budget-conscious business travellers who prioritise location, connectivity and a flexible environment. Mediterranean Hostel Barcelona offers a straightforward accommodation solution for guests wanting to experience the city from a central neighbourhood.

A Well-Priced, Central Base Between Business and Sightseeing

After a busy business trip, Mediterranean Hostel was a comfortable base for the extra nights included in my Tangol tour. The price-quality balance is especially good for central Barcelona: my room was simple but clean, with a surprisingly quiet courtyard view and reliable Wi-Fi for catching up on emails. Diputación 335 is wonderfully placed, about a ten-minute walk from Passeig de Gràcia and Casa Batlló, while Plaça Catalunya and the Gothic Quarter are also easy to reach on foot. Sagrada Família took only a short metro ride. Staff were relaxed and helpful, and the location saved me quite a bit on taxis.
