To get to San Gil from Bogotá, there are several transportation options. You can choose to travel by bus, which takes around 6 to 7 hours and there are several companies that offer this service from the Bogotá Transport Terminal. Another option is to fly to Palonegro International Airport in Bucaramanga and then take a bus or taxi to San Gil, which is approximately 2 and a half hours away. Traveling by car is also an option, following the National Route 45A highway.

San Gil is generally a safe place for tourists, but it is important to follow certain safety recommendations. Always keep your personal belongings in a safe place and avoid displaying valuables in public. When doing adventure sports, be sure to hire certified companies and guides.
