POUSADA SUMAÚMA is presented as a pousada in Santarém, a destination in western Pará known for its relationship with the Tapajós River and the Amazon rainforest. The property is associated with the wider Alter do Chão area, one of the region’s best-known travel references. This setting combines river beaches, forest scenery, local communities and a strong regional culture, creating an attractive context for travelers looking beyond conventional city accommodation.
The location is relevant for visitors planning to explore the natural and cultural points of interest around Santarém. The Tapajós River, the beaches and waterways near Alter do Chão, Ilha do Amor, Lago Verde and Serra da Piraoca are among the area’s recognized attractions. Exact distances, transfer arrangements and the property’s proximity to each point of interest are not publicly available for verification. Access to excursions, boat trips and protected forest areas depends on local operators, seasonal conditions and the traveler’s itinerary.
As a small-scale hotel accommodation, the pousada format generally suggests a more personal and informal stay than a large full-service property. However, the available public information does not confirm the architectural style, room decoration or the categories offered at POUSADA SUMAÚMA. Details regarding standard rooms, superior rooms, family units, private bathrooms, balconies and views are therefore not available. Travelers should consider the property primarily for its destination context rather than for a fully documented range of accommodation features.
Information about gastronomy is also not publicly verifiable. The existence of a restaurant, breakfast service, bar, room service or special menus cannot be confirmed. The same applies to wellness and leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, garden areas, recreational spaces or organized activities. These aspects are important when comparing lodging options in Santarém and should be checked before finalizing an itinerary.
The profile of the destination makes the property potentially suitable for couples looking for a calm Amazon escape, families interested in river landscapes and independent travelers exploring Pará. It may also serve visitors combining leisure with short professional stays in Santarém, although business facilities are not documented. Overall, POUSADA SUMAÚMA offers a destination-focused accommodation option in a region where nature, riverside scenery and local culture are central to the guest experience.
We stayed at Pousada Sumaúma as a group during our Tangol tour and felt it offered genuinely good value. The room was simple but clean, with reliable air-conditioning and a surprisingly comfortable mattress; the shower took a minute to heat up, though. Its Rua Maranhão location made getting to Santarém’s waterfront, restaurants, and the riverboat area easy on foot, while taxis to the Meeting of the Waters departure point were inexpensive. One small highlight was the cheerful owner leaving fresh tapioca cakes at breakfast. It is not a luxury property, but the price, location, and friendly service suited us perfectly.
