Details of Quebrada Del Toro Mountain Bike Circuit

Our excursion begins with the transfer from hotels in Salta to the starting point of the circuit, in the village of Campo Quijano, also known as El Portal de los Andes (Entrance to the Andes), where we go by car. Once equipped with our bikes and safety instruments, the guides will give a brief safety talk before starting the activity.

We will visit the first part of the Quebrada del Toro, an area with deep canyons and exuberant vegetation during the summer. It is also the natural route of communication between the Lerma Valley and the Puna; for thousands of years it was used by groups of people to move around, hence the many archaeological sites found there. We will be able to see part of the famous Train to the Clouds route, being able to understand how it works, and seeing some now abandoned stations, such as Río Blanco and El Alisal.

Halfway, with a short trekking, we will reach the beautiful waterfall called "Chorro Azul", undoubtedly the favorite point to rest and gather energy to continue towards the second part of the circuit. The second part of the circuit consists of a descent or downhill of 6 km to the point where the vehicle awaits us to return to Salta.
