Details of Day Tours

After breakfast, we will pick up by your central hotel in Buenos Aires to begin this great tour. The Circuit begins by visiting the Memory Square, which is the place where the Embassy of Israel in the Argentine Republic was located. In 1992 a bomb destroyed the Embassy building, taking the lives of 29 people and injuring more than 200. Currently, there is a Plaza inaugurated in 2000, which has a monument to the victims and to the State of Israel for the attack. Linden trees were also planted, in memory of each of the people who died there.

Our walk will continue visiting the Temple of Liberty (Synagogue of the Israelite Congregation of the Argentine Republic), which is where the "Israeli Congregation of the Argentine Republic" (CIR) operates; It is the largest and oldest Jewish temple that exists in the country. It was declared a National Historic Monument in 2000.

Later, we visit the nerve center par excellence of the daily life of the Jewish Community in our country: The ( Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina), is the new headquarters of the Jewish Community in our country, it was created to carry out all the activities necessary to comply with Jewish traditions. We will learn about its functions, initiatives and its history, which is very important for all Argentines.

Finally, a point to highlight is the visit to the : par excellence the Porteño neighborhood where most of the Jewish community is located. In the neighborhood you can visit Synagogues, restaurants and markets belonging to members of the community, such as the Paso Temple, which is one of the most popular visited temples in Buenos Aires.

, founded in 1930 and with capacity for 2000 people, it is one of the oldest synagogues in Argentina and the most beautiful in all of South America. The first Talmud Torah (house of religious studies) in the City of Buenos Aires was located there.

Finally, after four hours knowing these important places for the Jewish Community in Buenos Aires , we will be returning to our central hotels.

Knowledgeable guide speaking good English. Took us to places that I don't think we could have just walked into as tourists: the AMIA centre, rebuilt after the tragic bombing, 2 synagogues, the Jewish Museum, memorial to the victims of the Israel embassy bombing. Also walked round Once, showing us sites and facts of Jewish historical interest. Certainly can recommend.
