Estancia Las Carreras is located in one of the most dazzling zones of Tucumán province, surrounded by imposing hills and vast nature forest just 10-minute drive from Tafí del Valle town.

Estancia Las Carreras built by the Jesuits around the year 1718, reflects the cultural heritage of the region in its architecture. Reaching Las Carreras is part of this experience. Climbing to the famous Calchaquíes Valleys presents you with curves and reverse curves, cornice roads, and endless of greenish views and the continuous murmur of Los Sosa river. One of the main attractions of the ranch is the gastronomy. Both, the restaurant, that offers typical regional food, elaborated at the moment, as well as the famous Manchego cheese factory. The factory, founded in the XVIII century, III, attracts visitors from all over the World.

LOCATION:

Surrounded by hills between 2600 and 4500 meters high, Estancia Las Carreras invites you to meet the mystery of the Calchaquíes valleys. Only 12 km. from the Tafi town Estancia Las Carreras is located in the south west area of the valley. In order to get there you should take the province route, which would be the rout of the return to the valley, passing the entrance of La Ovejeria, later on El rodeo Grande and after that Santa Cruz up to the arrival to Las Carreras.

ACCOMODATIONS:

Estancia Las Carreras count with 10 bedrooms, composed by doubles and triples with breakfast included. They were decorated using the weaves of the zone, in fabrics and embroideries completely made on hand loom, that represent the different periods of the valley`s history. As a matter of fact, you will find pictures explaining the period it is referring to, as well as the staff used to get their colors. For example, the walnut for brown and the saffron for the orange.

Regarding to the equipments, the bedrooms have bathrooms with bath, hair dryers, heating, sommiers, telephone and functional music. To access is through a central hall of a colonial patio crossed by a canal. All bedrooms have marvelous sights to our hills, which invite us to visit them.

ACTIVITIES:

- Horse ridings with different durations: from 1 hour up to full day long, visiting our crop potatoes seeds, green pastures, strawberries and riding by around our hills (Pelao, Muñoz, Quebrada Del Portugués).
- Walks nearby the stay, visits to archeological ruins, walks to the Los Alisos waterfall, Cañada del Muñoz (Muñoz` gully, to the Quebrada del Portugués (Portuguese` ravine), to our sows, etc.
- Mountain bike ridings, by internal roads and different paths.
- Flora and fauna watching
- Walk around the valley.
- Visits to Amaicha, Quilmes ruins and Cafayate.
- Visit to the Menhires.
- Visit to the Myths and Legends museum (Casa Duende).
- Visit to the Jesuit chapel of La Banda.
- Visit to Campo del Molino (Mill field)
