Details of Day Tours

We begin our excursion leaving from departure point,  San Martín 830. We head 16 km outside the city, crossing the unique landscape offered by the  National Route No. 3   road to the winter centers.

The winter resort where the excursion will take place is called  Valle de Lobos , famous because its owner ran the famous dog sled race in  Iditarod   en  Alaska , and he returned to the country with wolves to cross them with his dogs and improve the breeds, that`s where his name comes from. 

After a brief explanation about the Siberian - Husky and Alaskan - Husky dogs, we prepare to start our walk. This walk is based on the life and work of the  beavers , a non-original species from Tierra del Fuego, which was introduced in 1946. This is a good example of how human hands can dramatically change the  biodiversity   and natural processes even in remote areas. Beavers are nature`s engineers who directly or indirectly control the availability of resources from other species by causing enormous changes in the ecosystem.
A journey of approximately 4 km is made looking for a cordon of  4 beavers , some old and inactive and others in current operation, being able to observe the incredible work of these animals with their  dikes   or dams, and their work in the  Fuegian forests . 

This path is performed by mobilizing in  bikes with spikes   on wheels or  walking with crampons , when finding incredible accumulations of ice at sea level, being able to circulate on frozen water without any risk. This same activity is carried out in other latitudes but  can only be found at more than a thousand meters high. It ends with a lunch in the city, in a 3-star hotel.
