Polo Day
  Moti Klein 19/12/2016

Who does not dream of being a polo player for a day? The glamor and beauty of the "Game of Kings" in Argentina has a recognized world fame. The idea of witnessing a game, plus the possibility of learning to play it with professionals is a unique proposal. Argentina Polo Day allows you to “Be a Polo Player for a Day” at any time of the year.

Polo Day

The polo day begins with the transfer from downtown hotels in the city of Buenos Aires, to travel approximately 50 minutes to the stay in Capilla del Señor. The team will welcome you with an explanatory talk about polo and its horses. The coach will tell the group how polo horses are chosen for the sport, their bloodlines and how they are trained, demonstrating their skills with practice exercises. The talk takes place while you enjoy exquisite empanadas and delicious local wines. The objective is to be able to learn more about the rules of the game, the equipment used for the match and the different tackling techniques.

Then the professional polo players play a real game of polo to 4 chukkers, using more than 30 horses! You are going to witness a game with pure adrenaline. You will not miss a thing with the bilingual guide commentators who will explain the fundamentals of the party. Then it will be time for lunch and you will be able to share it with the polo players and the team while you enjoy a delicious roast with a selection of achuras and beef, accompanied by Argentine wines (the vegetarian option is also available).

After spending a few hours relaxing in the pool or walking around the field and the stables, you will have an initial polo class that will make you feel like a player! It is not necessary to know how to ride a horse, nor to have previous experience in polo. You will have the necessary equipment and instruction to learn how to ride a horse, take the polo cue and aim the ball. Everything is prepared so that at the end of the day with everything you have learned you can participate in a mini polo game.

The duration of this full day program at Estancia La Carona is 8 hours, it is an excursion suitable for all ages and it is all inclusive. The ranch has two professional polo fields, a lighted sand court unique in South America, a swimming pool and a Pulpería, which allows you to relive country customs and delicacies. La Carona was awarded the Biosphere certificate, which follows the strictest international sustainability criteria, and was declared of Provincial Cultural Interest by the Legislature of Buenos Aires.

Polo Night

A short time ago, Argentina Polo Day incorporated a new innovative and unique experience in the world: Attending a professional night polo game - the Polo Night - in four chukkers. It is a different way of enjoying the stay and the gastronomy under the stars. It allows you to learn more about the rules of the game, the history of polo and the equipment it takes to play.

Among chukkers you will have the opportunity to visit the stables where the horses are located and observe how the groomers prepare them (Horse Keepers). In addition, you will be able to practice the different polo shots. This program begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m., with round-trip transfers to the city of Buenos Aires. It is an experience of the highest quality. Ideal to spend a different and special night!
