We will start our tour in the city of Quito picking up passengers at their hotels, so that we can begin our journey through the largest and best preserved centre in all of Latin America.
We will tour the historic centre in one of the original Trolleys, which are a replica of the trams that used to circulate in Quito in the last century. Our first stop will be at the Church of the Basilica del Voto Nacional, where we will be given an explanation of its façade, and then we will move on to the Mirador del Panecillo, an iconic place in the city, where there is a giant statue of the "Winged Virgin", from where we will be able to admire a beautiful landscape of colonial and modern Quito.
We will continue our tour to the Plaza de San Francisco, one of the most representative places of the city, and full of history, from where we will walk to the Plaza Grande, the historical and political centre of the city, surrounded by the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop`s Palace and the Church of La Compañía.
In addition, we will visit the traditional neighbourhood of La Ronda, where we can find workshops where we will learn with a group of craftsmen, how their works are made, and how the cultural traditions of this charming city are kept alive. In this emblematic street you will have the opportunity to visit an ice-cream parlour where you can find very traditional Ecuadorian flavours, as well as a visit to one of the artisan workshops: toquilla straw hats or cabinetmaking or tinsmithing or products made from bee honey.
To finish our tour you will be able to visit a typical and exclusive handicraft shop of Ecuadorian artists from different parts of the country. After this, you can return to the hotel on your own or have lunch (not included) in the Pink Zone of the city known as La Mariscal.
