DAY 1 - FRIDAY: QUITO – COCA – NAPO RIVER
From Quito We will take a flight to the Amazonian city of Coca, we will transfer to the pier to board our motorized canoe that will take us to the cruise, where we will receive a warm welcome on board.
Local naturalist guides will provide a brief and informative introduction to the Ecuadorian Amazon.
After dinner, we will dive into the depths of the Amazon jungle with a short walk to observe the nocturnal activity of the forest.
DAY 2 - SATURDAY: PANACOCHA BIOLOGICAL CORRIDOR
We continue sailing downstream towards the mouth of the Pañayacu River, where we will take a canoe trip to discover the attractions of this fabulous lake reserve. In this tropical forest Inhabited by 9 species of primates, 500 species of birds and more than 100 species of fish, this is the ideal habitat for Piranhas, the Arawana (the so-called “water monkey fish”) and the White Caiman.
Here, we will hike trails with our naturalist guides and relax in a campsite. After lunch, we will kayak and most The brave can enjoy a nice swim in the Piranha Lake, we promise it`s not as dangerous as it sounds!
Back on board the cruise, we will have the opportunity to attend a lecture given by our concierge and watch an educational documentary about the region.
DAY 3 - SUNDAY: SALADERO DE LOROS – AMAZON COMMUNITIES OBSERVATION TOWER
In the morning, we will visit the parrot clay licks. This unique place is rich in minerals and attracts hundreds of colorful parrots, parakeets and Amazon birds every day of the year.
Later, we will visit a Kichwa Cultural Center, where we will learn about Amazonian communities and their ancestral culture, traditions and gastronomy
Before sunset, we will visit an observation tower in the rainforest canopy, offering an amazing 360-degree view of the entire Amazon basin. It is a prime photo opportunity.
DAY 4 – MONDAY: RETURN
This is where our adventure ends! We will enjoy the last stretch on board and disembark from the cruise ship to take the motorized canoe back to Coca (an hour and a half away).
