WHAT TO BRING?
- Welcome kit.
- Route map provided in the national park.
- Headlamp with new batteries.
- Camera with extra batteries and/or charger.
- Sunscreen (SPF 50).
- Lip balm with sunscreen (SPF 50).
- Bottle of water (passengers with a program include a bottle).
- Mosquito repellent.
- First aid box
- (pain relievers, antihistamines, antispasmodics, and your personal medications.)
- It is not possible to buy any type of medicine inside the park.
- It is also advisable to carry patches for injuries or to prevent injuries (type moleskin, compeed, kt tape.)
- It is very important to protect the things you carry inside your backpack from the rain. You can use:

- Comfortable and light shoes, waterproof if you can, remember that every day is a long walk.

- Waterproof polar fiber jacket or jacket.

- Pick up the Welcome Kit the day before at the office at Manuel Bulnes 83. Puerto Natales between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Hike times, distances and slopes are indicative.
- Each passenger must carry their personal equipment, box lunch and water throughout the program route.
- We recommend using a 40 liter backpack.
- Luggage custody is offered at the Puerto Natales office for those who wish to leave belongings during their hike.
- All itineraries, schedules and excursions are subject to changes and weather conditions.

Meals are a single menu, with the option of a vegetarian or vegan menu.

- Lunches during the program will be box lunches that are taken on the tour.
- In all the shelters there are food stores where you can buy basic foods and snacks.
- Some refuges have bars serving wines, spirits and local beer.

Details of Day Tours

We will start this adventure leaving from the city closest to the park. Puerto Natales. The day before beginning of the experience you must remove your Kit Welcome in the office of Manuel Bulnes 83. Puerto Natales between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Day 1: Arrival at Torres del Paine National Park - Trekking to Torres Base

After enjoying of breakfast at your hotel, request your box lunch and we will leave on our way to to take the 7:00 am bus (I recommend you be at least 10 minutes before departure, make sure). We leave towards the Park Torres del Paine National. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes on the way to reach the main entrance of "Laguna Amarga". Here it is necessary register with CONAF (park rangers), right here you will transfer with the “Transporte Las Torres”, who will take you to the "Welcome Center".

You register at the Cerro Paine reserve and after about 5 minutes walking you reach "Central Tower" where You can check in, either at the shelter or at the campsite, whichever you have chosen, lighten your luggage, take what you need and start your trekking.

 

Today`s walk It begins with the Ascencio Valley, enjoying its extensive forests. During the final climb, you pass through a immense field of giant rocks until you reach one of the most emblematic viewpoints in the world, the famous "Torres Base Viewpoint". to one height of 900 meters above sea level, marvel at the 3 towers (north, central and south) of granite and the sparkling turquoise glacial lake at your feet. Take pictures, Enjoy, eat something and begin the way back along the same route. Enjoy of the delicious dinner at the refuge and then go to rest.

* Time: 8 to 10 hrs.

* Level of Difficulty: Very demanding.

* Accommodation: Shelter (single bed) or camping.

* Meals: Box lunch and dinner.

 


Day 2: Hike to Los Cuernos or Francés

Enjoy breakfast, Order your box lunch and get ready to start the walk into the depths of the park towards the refuge Los Cuernos or Francés. During this walk you will pass through beautiful streams crystal clear and you can admire the glaciers that hang from Mount Almirante Nieto at 2,670 meters. You will also be able to see the majestic Condors gliding from the heights and bordering the fascinating waters of Lake Nordenskjöld. Continue on this path until you reach Los Cuernos shelter or Domo French, where you will relax all night.

 

* Distance: 12 or 15 kms, depending on accommodation.

* Time: 4 to 5 hrs.

* Level of Difficulty: Medium.

* Accommodation: Shelter (single bed) or camping.

* Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner.

 

 

Day 3: Explore the French Valley

We recommend start early! This special hike will take you to the heart of the Torres National Park del Paine. After breakfast don`t forget to order your box lunch and Get ready to be dazzled by amazing Patagonian landscapes. After 2 hours of walking you will spend through the French campsite and you will arrive at the entrance to the French Valley. You can leave your backpack in the Italian camp, where the park rangers are located, and begin your ascent towards the French Valley.

Go up big rocks and then continue through the forest until you reach the French Viewpoint. Here you will be rewarded with incredible views of Los Cuernos, lagoons Turquoise glaciers and amazing glaciers pendants that fall down the east face of the Paine Grande mountain (3,050 m.a.s.l.) . If you`re lucky, you can hear the resounding noise of the glacier and the falling water, and it is also very common to witness some avalanche. Enjoy your box lunch and well deserved rest. Descend along the same trail back to camp Italian.

From here walk to Paine Grande refuge (2.5 hours). Take it easy as it is practically flat. At night you can enjoy of a delicious dinner at the shelter.

* Time: 6 to 7 hrs

* Level of difficulty: Plaintiff

* Accommodation: Shelter (bed set up) or Paine Grande campsite

* Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner

 


Day 4: Gray Glacier (optional hanging bridges)

The trekking begins today, so have breakfast first and don`t forget your box lunch. The walk begins through a narrow and winding valley that leads to theLaguna The Ducks. As you continue progressing you will begin to see parts of the immense Southern Ice Fields, as well as also the ice floes of Lake Grey. After passing the windy viewpoint, the path descends through a mountainous forest until reaching the Grey refuge. From here, if you continue walking For about 10 minutes, you will reach the viewpoint of the Gray Glacier, where you will find yourself face to face with thisblue ice massif. Dinner will be served in the shelter between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

 

If you have energy Even, as Optional you can make a Extra unforgettable visit to Gray Glacier, you need to reserve an extra 3 to 4 hours (round trip) past the refuge in direction to the famous Hanging Bridges. It is by far the best viewpoint of the glacier. In addition to contemplating the impressive ice, you can see the depth of the ravines formed by the rivers and waterfalls that come from the Cordón Olguín. If you are lucky, you will be able to see landslides ice from the glacierinto the cold waters of Lake Grey.

There are a total of about 4 kms and the trekking has a medium difficulty.

* Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner

 

 

DAY 5: Hike to Paine Grande – Catamaran – Return to Puerto Natales

If you were not able to visit the hanging bridges the previous afternoon, or you were very tired, you can take the morning of this day to explore the Spectacular panoramic views of the Glacier Grey. Then, continue the same trail back to Paine Grande to take the catamaran at 17:00 hrs towards Pudeto, from where You can take the bus back to at 6:00 p.m. Puerto Natales. The approximate time of arrival in Natales is 9:15 p.m.
