Day 1: Arrival to Torres del Paine National Park – Hike to Serón

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, Request your box lunch and we will leave on the way to the train station to take the 7:00 am bus (I recommend being at least 10 minutes before departure, make sure). We set off towards the Torres del Paine National Park in the middle of the Patagonian pampas until we reach the main entrance of "Laguna Amarga". Here it is necessary to register with CONAF (park rangers), right here you will transfer with the “Transporte Las Torres”, who will take you to the "Welcome Center". You register at theCerro Paine Reserve and begin the walk to the Camping Serón.

Although it is considered one of the simplest hikes on the circuit, the trail towards Serón will show you many amazing landscapes of the untamed side of the Torres del Paine National Park. You walk through a beautiful green carpet of trees, you follow a hillside towards a grassland in this Patagonian plain. Continuing along this relatively flat path towards the Serón campsite, you will see crystalline streams. Settle into the campsite, and you will still have a little time to enjoy the immense size of the terrain before dinner, which will be served inside the small, but cozy, Serón dining room.

When bordering the Los Perros River, you climb a large moraine. where you will be breathless as you see another picturesque mountain as a backdrop, the wonderful Los Perros Glacier and its blue-green lagoon. Leaving the forest you begin to ascend through worn and loose rocks ( sometimes with snow) until reaching the highest point of the circuit, the famous John Garner Pass (1,200 meters above sea level). Wrapped by the strong Patagonian winds while you are impressed by the b> Campos de Hielo Sur and its wonderful glowing carpet, descend along the side of a giant wall of ice and continue the path through the El Paso campsite b>, where there is a park ranger outpost.
