We`ll leave the centrally located Peñón hotels. We`ll take a journey about 63 km to the north along the route N° 43 until we reach the Villa de Antofagasta de la Sierra.
We will be passing by the Antofagasta town, to visit the Campo de las Tobas, a place that represents the local history and where through Cave Art, we can observe petroglyphs engravings on the ground with human figures, footprints, and drawings of different geometric shapes.
After that, we continue our journey towards the Real Grande Canyon, where we`ll stop for enjoying this magical place among various canyons with walls up to 70 meters high decorated with beautiful cave paintings.
After having visited the Real Grande Canyon, we will visit a viewpoint located on the west edge of the Galán Volcano at 4,840 meters above sea level.
From the crater`s inside, we will have the opportunity to be part of a gorgeaus panoramic view of Laguna Diamante, one of the most impressive lagoons of our beautiful Catamarca.
Then, we will visit the Galán Volcano, and the most important tourist spots such as the geysers, Laguna Diamante, Laguna del Pabellón, Laguna Grande and Laguna de Cabe. There we can also get in touch with nature and see its captivating fauna such as flamingos, vicunas, foxes and more.
At the end, we`ll return to the centrally located el Peñón hotels.
