Welcome to our web site, we are Elvio and Carina, the owners of “La Casa de Piedra”. We look forward to welcoming you to “El Chalten”.

You will be surely impressed by our great scenery, huge mountains and their wonderful vegetation. You can also find very exiting to travel through the Patagonian steppe, an experience that wakes up another type of not less captivating sensations.
We hope that you enjoy your stay in this wonderful place, as it has happened to us already many years ago, when we came for the first time, and as it happens also every day since we definitively establish ourselves in this natural paradise.
We invite you to feel the immensity of the Patagonians Andes of “El Chalten”: a landscape covered of forests, furrowed by rapid rivers, adorned by cold glaciers.

We will kindly offer you our warmth; will tell you our history about the time we came and were only 40 permanent inhabitants, our anecdotes and those of the pioneers and climbers who spent their time hereabouts, in some moment of their lives.
We will give an answer to all of your queries and will advise in everything you need, offering to you our experience and knowledge of the zone.
